Joseph advocates for using clean energy and sustainable design as the foundation for community-based solutions to social and environmental issues. Most recently he has lived this mission as the Vice President for Commercial projects at Windfree Solar, where he oversees projects from 50 kW systems at church and non-profit facilities to 6 MW community solar projects in rural Illinois. This work naturally extends from his previous experience as a designer of systems for zero-energy buildings, leading sustainability initiative development and implementation at Illinois Tech, and managing energy and sustainable building planning at Chicago Public Schools. At every step along this path, Joseph has challenged others to work collaboratively in the pursuit of audacious goals that challenge the status quo in an attempt to show that the tools and knowledge we need to build a sustainable future already exist. We just need the courage and incentive to make them happen.
